If you have been a member of UNISON for at least two years on the day you
retire and you receive a pension, for a one-off fee of £15, you can become
a Retired Member of the branch.
As a Retired Member, you will continue to enjoy all the benefits of
membership including:
• Legal Advice
• Welfare Support
• Discounts (click
here to view UNISON Plus Discounts)
|
You can
also continue to use the Lealta Benefits card issued to you as a member.
UNISON works to raise awareness of issues that concern older people such
as:
• Pensioner Poverty
• Healthcare
• Age Discrimination
• Isolation and Mobility Issues
UNISON is unique in having a Retired Members organisation that mirrors the
structure of the working members. You can participate in the Democratic
Structures of the union, attend branch meetings and take part in National
Conference.
You will receive regular updates from the branch, including our regular
newsletter, UniView, to keep you informed of what is happening within the
Force as well as information from the National union.

Branch Retired Members
Officer
The branch has never been able to recruit a dedicated Retired Members
Officer to sit on the Executive Committee. We would love to have a link
with our Retired Members so we can support them with any issues they may
have, and keep them up to date with goings on within the branch.
If you are interested in becoming the Retired Members Officer, please
contact the branch as above for an informal chat. |
