Is sickness making you sick?
UNISON believes that the Force Sickness Monitoring Policy, used in the way
it was intended, can be beneficial to members. However, individual
managers have occasionally used the Monitoring Policy in a punitive way,
causing a great deal of distress to those people off sick.
The Branch can do nothing to improve the situation unless members make us
aware and can evidence difficulties they are experiencing. Therefore we
ask that members report to UNISON any incidence that is not consistent
with Policy M10.
The Branch also recognises that many cases of Bullying go unreported. We
have been able to assist members who have sought our advice, so again
please don't be frightened to report any incidences to UNISON via the
Branch Office, your local representative or Welfare Officer. We can assure
you that all enquiries will be dealt with by the Branch Officers in a
confidential manner.
